5 GRAMMAR 语法
If you used to do something, you did it regularly or for a period of time in the past. Use the infinitive without ‘to’ after used to , not the past tense. used to do something 表示过去经常做某事，或过去某段时间里做过某事。used to 后用不带 to 的不定式，而不用过去式
My dad used to grow vegetables (NOT 不说 used to grew vegetables).
我爸爸过去种蔬菜。
For talking about a present habit, use usually. 表示现在的习惯要用 usually
We usually eat (NOT 不说 use to eat) around six.
我们通常 6 点前后吃饭。
⁑ Do not confuse ‘I used to do something’ and ‘I’m used to doing something’. 不要混淆 I used to do something 和 I’m used to doing something。
n USAGE: Used to do sth, be used to something
Don't confuse I used to do something and I am used to (doing) something.
You say
I used to live in Paris
when you lived in Paris in the past, but you do not live there now. In this meaning, used to is followed by the base form of the verb (=the infinitive without 'to').
You say
I'm used to living in Paris
when you are accustomed to living in Paris because you have lived there for some time.
Be used to is followed by an -ing form, not the infinitive. ✗Don't say: I'm used to live in Paris.
